The Hobgoblin | Places To Eat In Bristol

As a Bristol regular I thought I would show off some of the most incredible places to eat in Bristol, this is part of a series and I’ll continue to add to the collection as I eat my way around Bristol!

It’s all about the dirty, dirty fries! If you’re looking for a good burger and the most incredible fries you’ve ever tasted, then The Hobgoblin is the perfect place for you. Based halfway up Gloucester Road, you’ll find many people who visit Bristol tend to stick to exploring the food in the center and around rather than venturing up, but Gloucester Road has so many incredible restaurants and cafes such as The Hobgoblin. I’ve wrote about Hobgoblin in a few of my other blogs, in why Bristol has my heart and missing university.

Serving a range of burgers, beef, chicken and veggie options, nachos, chicken wings and dirty, dirty fries, Hobgoblin is somewhere I recommend to most people when they ask where they should visit when heading to Bristol. If you aren’t a burger fan then you’ll probably want to avoid, but if you love burgers you’re in for an absolute treat!

From the triple stack burger to the classic burger, there are a variety of different burger toppings. All burgers come with coleslaw and chips, which is more than enough to fill you up.

Let’s Talk About Dirty, Dirty Fries

I started this off with the dirty, dirty fries, but they need their own subheading! It’s the main reason I head to Hobgoblin. Fries seasoned with spices and topped with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, melted cheddar, stilton and mayo, they are incredible (my mouth is watering just writing this! ?).

They are definitely for sharing though as they are massive! The only thing I’d change is that all of the burgers come with fries, there’s no option to take them off. So, you end up leaving extra full and full of potato, but when shared between three or four, you can easily manage the both!

Everywhere does some form of dirty fries, but you haven’t lived until you’ve had Hobgoblins, in my opinion they are THE best I’ve had, and I’ve eaten a lot of fries!

Gloucester Road is one of my favourite places in Bristol due to its very chilled vibe. The same goes for Hobgoblin, the pub is very chilled and is such a nice place to head in for a chilled-out meal catching up with friends.

So, head to Hobgoblin – order an incredible burger, some dirty, dirty fries and a good pint of cider, and you’ll have an unbelievable time!

Hobgoblin don’t have a website, but you can get some major food envy over on their Instagram page or on their Facebook page, let me know if you’ve been before in the comments below!
